Michael Slattery sings Dylan et Waits

Michael Slattery, the New York tenor with an alluring charm, sings Bob Dylan and Tom Waits, consummate poets of everyday American life from the sixties to today. This engaging and eclectic program comprises reimagined folk and pop songs along with melodies by great composers under the guidance of Musical Director Seán Dagher.

American singer-songwriters Dylan and Waits are renowned for their writing as well as their distinctively raw singing. Their poetry gives us a glimpse of daily life in America, its many struggles and triumphs. The show presents updated versions of their songs along with those of Elton John, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, and even Lady Gaga, among others. These songs pair beautifully with those of Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copeland, Charles Ives, Craig Urquhart and several more.
