Songs and legends of the cold
ALKEMIA ensemble
Scandinavian, British and Quebec folkore meet in traditional and revisited versions by northern composers. Come celebrate the end of winter with ALKEMIA in a timeless journey through the northern visions of Roland, Orpheus and Arthur, heroes from great immortal tales.
A finalist at the Early Music America competition in 2009, ALKEMIA is well known for its particular blend of voices, colors and ideas, and its playful exploration of vocal music, mostly a cappella, from a period covering over 1000 years.
Dorothéa Ventura, voice; Marie-Paule Martel-Reny, voice; Jean-François Daignault, voice, wind instruments; Annabelle Renzo, harp; Renaud Paradis, narrator and percussion.
