Italian music recital

For this intimate recital, Sylvain Bergeron will perform pieces from the Libro di Leuto di Gioseppe Antonio Doni (Perugia, 17th century) on the archlute. A lutenist of international fame, Sylvain is recognized for the delicate nuances, the intuition of the phrasing and the elegance of his interpretations.
For the second half of this recital, young soprano Estelí Gomez will join Sylvain to perform cantatas and arias by Girolamo Frescobaldi (1583-1643), Barbara Strozzi (1619-1677), Sigismondo d’India (1582-1629), and Giovanni Felice Sances (1600-1679). Well known for the purity and the luminous quality of her voice, Estelí won several prizes for her work in the fields of early music and contemporary music.
